In The World Of Sports

Winter sports officially begin on Monday, October 31.  Below is the schedule.  There will be cuts in all sports, so attendance from the beginning is critical.  In order to try out, each student must have a current physical on file with me and have fully completed the registermyathlete.com process.

If you still need a physical, our booster club is sponsoring one tomorrow, October 27 starting at 3:30.  Please sign up with Mr. Collins. Walk-ins will be accepted, but will have to wait for the preregistered students to complete their appointment first. The cost is $20.

Boys Soccer-November 1-on the grass field at 3:30 or 15 minutes after their last class
Girls Soccer-October 31-on the grass field at 3:30 or 15 minutes after their last class
Boys Basketball-October 31-in the gym at 5:30
Girls Basketball-October 31-in the gym 15 minutes after your last class
Wrestling-November 1-in the small gym at 3:30 or 15 minutes after 7th period

If you are in a fall sport, you must finish the season before you can practice with a winter sport.  However, you need to communicate with the coaches so they know you are going to be coming out later.

Lincoln Athletics Mission Statement
The philosophy of the Athletic Department is to strongly encourage all student-athletes to compete in as many sports as possible. Students may elect to participate in one sport per season, or as little as one sport per year. Some of the teams involve a selection process and others such as Cross Country, Swimming, and Track are able to handle large numbers, provided the student meets the coach’s expectations.

Lincoln High School is highly regarded as an academic, visual and performing arts magnet. We are very proud of all the Lincoln High School programs, and in recent years, our athletic programs have improved dramatically.
